Thank you for sharing!!! It is so validating to hear your story. I found myself to a "little woo" by way of similar circumstances and once you see the life changing/saving benefits of being your own advocate, I don't think you can ever go back. It is now a way of thinking/being in the world and although it can be lonely at times, I have found it incredibly empowering. I agree that the hardest part is knowing where to draw the line with finding accurate information but there are fundamental principles of functional health that I continue to return to. I recently discovered Peter Attia's work and find him to be an excellent balance of what he calls "medicine 3.0".

Hi Jo! Hope the tumor is benign and treatable! Yikes! I'm glad to read of your advocacy efforts, and they are so so important. For a balanced perspective, I would also recommend reading "Overdiagnosed: Making People Sick in the Pursuit of Health" By Dr. Gil Welch. It's a difficult balance to strike, but important to keep both perspectives in mind.
